Pictures From Marcus Schossow’s Cielo Gig (03.05.2010)
Saturday, March 6th, 2010Hello All! For those who couldn’t make it to Marcus’ show last night at Cielo, we took some pictures so we can upset you even more that you weren’t there! LOL, just kidding.. But for those that didn’t make it you missed a hell of a set from Mr. Schossow. He started off playing a little harder progressive house tunes and then hit us off with beautiful energetic trance!
This was our first time seeing Marcus Schossow, and after experiencing it last night, I can’t wait to check him out next time he’s around! Cielo continues to be one of my favorite venues due to the intimate experience you get with the DJ as well as their sound system. Well enough talking and here are some of the unedited pictures from the show…will try to get my photoshop on in the next few days and make these extra pretty!

Sweden’s Marcus Schössow is a central figure in the hot, new group of young DJs and producers working today. He is that rare individual that shines at all he puts his mind to. Whether it is performing to huge crowds of screaming fans or producing for the masses; Schössow remains determined to reinvent dance music as we all know it. His infectious presence, prodigious mixing, and genre defying productions have dance floors around the world collectively moving to his beat.
Marcus Schössow is a young man who has just started a very prosperous musical career. At the tender age of 24 he has formed a career few can even dream of. With all his hard work and dedication, his legions of fans have rewarded him with a place on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s, as well as voting him as the #1 Nordic DJ. Schössow’s fusion of futuristic techno, filthy house and dreamy trance has introduced the world to what is known as “Schossow Sound.” His tracks like “Hypnotizer”, “Crepusculo”, and “Light” have garnered support from all of the world’s top DJ’s including Armin van Buuren, Axwell and Steve Lawler, underlining his increased influence in the world of dance music.
Hot of the heels of his debut album Outside the Box, Marcus is now set to release his debut EP on Anjunabeats, as well as his remix of the latest Tiesto/Tegan & Sara collaboration. It is not only his ability as a producer that gives Marcus Schössow his fame. His DJ sets are in high demand throughout the world. Tune Of The Week
Sunday, September 27th, 2009Welcome back world to the best 5 tracks you’ll hear all week. Before we you get the new ones, here’s a look at last weeks Top5Tunez voting. Our winner with 31% of the votes was Jochen Millers “Brace Yourself”. The track is just amazing, definitely one track I cannot wait to hear live. Up next with 25% of the votes is Tiesto’s new record “Louder Than Boom”, Now I dont know how loud boom is, but this track is something very different from Tiesto, and since hes pretty much accomplished everything a artist can, it is time for him to work with different sounds in my opinion.
With 17% of the votes comes Ummet Ozcan’s tune “Maya” , Ummet has a great style in his productions and has been climbing up our favorite producer list quickly. This track can easily become a anthem tune for one of the big music festivals. Up next with 16% of your votes was the Marcus Schossow Edit of DJ Eco’s “Lost Angeles”, DJ Eco has really outdone himself this year releasing great track after great track, and you can never go wrong with putting that Marcus Schossow touch on any track! Finally with 11% of the votes comes Markus Schulz’s “Do You Dream(Uplifting Mix)”, as always Markus comes through with an amazing production.
As always thank you for the votes and keep them coming, we’re working here day and night on a few new features to improve the website so stay tuned for that! Enjoy this weeks Top5Tunez and spread the love!! Make sure you check back tomorrow to hear the week 47 Top5Tunez Mix.
Tune Of The Week
Sunday, September 6th, 2009Whats up world, we’re leaving for the Electric Zoo Festival in about an hour(Pictures and Videos coming soon), So lets get this thing rolling. The winner of this weeks Top5Tunez with 30% of the votes, is the Cosmic Gate remix of Fabio XB & Ronnie Play Ft Gabriel Cage – “Inside Of You”. I agree with the comment left on the YouTube page by Polarfuchs about this Cosmic Gate and this track, “Cosmic Gate is just sick. Love them! Greeeeat track”.. Really I couldn’t of summed it up any better. Up next with 25% of the votes is Marcus Schossow’s alias Progresia with “Galandia” , and again Polarfuchs sounds off on the YouTube page, “Schossow owns. He is so damn skilled 5*”, true and to the point!!
With 18% of the votes came Cliff Coenraad’s “Distorted Reality” , and yes Polarfuchs did comment on it, but I just want to say Cliff Coenraad is really giving the electronic dance scene a sick, new sound too it, and people are loving it, hope he can make it out to New York soon, so we can check him out live! Rafael Frost’s “Boomerang” took in 14% of the votes, Mr. Frost has brought us a handful of quality productions, but this in my opinion, is his best work to date. Now with 13% of the votes comes Tritonal Ft Christina Soto – Lunarium (Daydream Fantasy Vocal Mix), amazing production by them again, the name of the mix really says it all, the track puts you into a sort of fantasy land and Christina’s voice really works beautifully on this track, the record really gives me a feel like Master & Nickson Ft. Justine Suissa “Out There(5th Dimension)” did, very uplifting..keep up the good work guys!
Enjoy this weeks tracks and make sure you vote for your favorite! We’ll have a lot of new pictures and videos up this week so make sure you stay tuned!!
Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight: Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi
Monday, July 20th, 2009With under 50 days to go till the Electric Zoo and over 50 artists performing, I think its time for us to school you guys on some of the performers. Today we’ll introduce you to three DJ’s playing on Saturday (Sept.5).
Armin Van Buuren, I don’t think I have to give a big lesson on this man. Winning awards as a producer and a DJ, including the 2007 and 2008 DJmag #1 DJ(took #2 in ‘06 and has been top 5 since 2002). His discography includes tracks he’s done with Tiesto (“Wonder Where You Are?“), under the name “Major League”, to tracks with Ferry Corsten (“Exhale”), under the name “System F” to his new tracks like “Fine Without You” off his new album “Imagine”.
Up next we have Deadmau5. I don’t think I’ve seen a DJ/Producer hated on more than him since DJ Aligator. From his beef with Marcus Schossow, who created a project along with Maor Levi and DJ Eco named “Deadrat6″(Deadmau5 later released a track under the name “Marcus Fatsow”, a blow at Marcus’ size) ..to his views on “DJ’s”, and I quote “with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur, I’d like them to dis-a-fucking-pear! It’s so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers! You need them, but they’re fucking cunt”. Other then these minor incidents the man has brought forth quality music, from his Juno Award winning track with Billy Newton Davis, called “All U Ever Want”, to his track “I Remember” with Kaskade and his Grammy nominated remix of Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road”.
Up third in today’s spotlight is Benny Benassi. Benny has accomplished alot since coming in the dance scene including a Grammy for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise” , also correct me if I’am wrong, but I believe he made that distorted bass sound cool. One of my favorite’s from Benny Benassi is “Rocket In The Sky”..please,please..dont ask me why. But lets not joke ourselves, we all know what he’s most famous for….
For those not aware, Electric Zoo is a outdoor NYC event that will bring together over 50 artists to perform in Randall’s Island Park this Labor Day Weekend. For more information check out the homepage for the event @ www.electriczoofestival.com
