Met Randy Boyer and a few other cool people over the weekend, so it was pretty sweet. But the pictures will speak for themselves, lets get to your favorite track of the week. There’s actually going to be two winners this week, because the poll’s were down for the first three days of voting…. So our poll winner was the Kyau & Albert remix of Cosmic Gate’s “Flatline”, the track received 34% of your votes, and got 125 hits on our Youtube Channel, our number two winner is the 2009 version of Ron Van Den Bueken’s “Timless” , this being probably the longest track name we’ve ever had … Ron Van Den Bueken – Timeless 2009 (Ron Van Den Bueken & Maarten De Jong Edit), thats 15 words for one track!! Anyway the track received 28% of the votes while taking over 240 hits on the Youtube Channel.

With 19% of the votes and 180+ hits on the Youtube channel is Marco V’s new single “Solitary Confinement”, and if you love Marco V’s previous work, you have to enjoy this track as its pure Marco V style. Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight: Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi

Monday, July 20th, 2009

With under 50 days to go till the Electric Zoo and over 50 artists performing, I think its time for us to school you guys on some of the performers. Today we’ll introduce you to three DJ’s playing on Saturday (Sept.5).

Armin Van Buuren, I don’t think I have to give a big lesson on this man. Winning awards as a producer and a DJ, including the 2007 and 2008 DJmag #1 DJ(took #2 in ‘06 and has been top 5 since 2002). His discography includes tracks he’s done with Tiesto (“Wonder Where You Are?“), under the name “Major League”, to tracks with Ferry Corsten (“Exhale”), under the name “System F” to his new tracks like “Fine Without You” off his new album “Imagine”.

Up next we have Deadmau5. I don’t think I’ve seen a DJ/Producer hated on more than him since DJ Aligator. From his beef with Marcus Schossow, who created a project along with Maor Levi and DJ Eco named “Deadrat6″(Deadmau5 later released a track under the name “Marcus Fatsow”, a blow at Marcus’ size) ..to his views on “DJ’s”, and I quote “with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur, I’d like them to dis-a-fucking-pear! It’s so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers! You need them, but they’re fucking cunt”. Other then these minor incidents the man has brought forth quality music, from his Juno Award winning track with Billy Newton Davis, called “All U Ever Want”, to his track “I Remember” with Kaskade and his Grammy nominated remix of Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road”.

Up third in today’s spotlight is Benny Benassi. Benny has accomplished alot since coming in the dance scene including a Grammy for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise” , also correct me if I’am wrong, but I believe he made that distorted bass sound cool. One of my favorite’s from Benny Benassi is “Rocket In The Sky”..please,please..dont ask me why. But lets not joke ourselves, we all know what he’s most famous for….

For those not aware, Electric Zoo is a outdoor NYC event that will bring together over 50 artists to perform in Randall’s Island Park this Labor Day Weekend. For more information check out the homepage for the event @ www.electriczoofestival.com

Tune Of The Week

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Thirty three weeks have passed by since our first Tune Of The Week back in the winter of 2008, now heres our first summer Tune Of The Week, Josh Gabriel Pres. Winter Kills – Deep Down, the track took in 36% of your votes. Josh Gabriel always seems to produce great music, this track falls under the “great music” category. Coming in number 2, with 28% of the votes is “Loved U 2 Much” by “Feel”, which features the beautiful voice of Tiff Lacey.

Taking the number 3 position is Ronski Speed Ft. Mque, and their track “Are You?”. The track took in 19% of the votes. This is slowly becoming my favorite Ronski Speed production. First State’s remix of “We Came”, which the original was released 10 years ago by Vimana, took in 9% of the votes.  As you may or may not know, Vimana was a collaboration by the legendary DJ Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, even before their Gouryella project. And with 8% of the votes comes Jonas Stenberg’s track “Memories”
.

As always thank you for your votes and keep them coming, and help us grow! Hope you enjoy this weeks tracks!

Tune Of The Week

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Another week, another winner here on DJtunez.net. Unlike the new propositions to limit the amount of “free” music radio stations can play, DJtunez.net sets no such limits!

This weeks winner was a great remix by Muzikjunki of Ferry Corsten’s “We Belong”. The track took in 35% of your votes. In second place with 20% of the votes is Hardwell’s remix of Sander Van Doorns & Marco V’s “What Say”. Hardwell at only 21 years of age has made quite a name for himself, even getting the opportunity to mix disc 2 of “Privilege, The Worlds Biggest Club”. Disc 1 is mixed by the legends Cosmic Gate.

Andrew Bayer’s Remix of Oceanlab’s “Secret”, Took in 20% of the votes. You can find this remix and many more great remixes from Oceanlabs 2008 album “Sirens Of The Sea”, on the “Sirens Of The Sea Remixed” album. With 16% of the votes is Marcel Woods new track called “Inside Me” and Breakfast’s remix of the Saints & Sinners track “Peace” took in 8%.

Hope you enjoy this weeks Top 5 Tunez, and dont forget to vote on your favorite!

Bad Covers

Monday, April 27th, 2009

While going through a few CD’s, I’ve noticed a horrible trend in electronic music, some of these are horrible, as bad as Ken’s was. So heres a fun little list we’ve compiled. Now, this isnt a knock at the artist(s), just at the choice they made with allowing these to be released. Ferry Corsten L.E.F. probably tops this list as his album cover makes no sense what so ever, Yoji Biomehanika I can kind of understand as he targets that type of crowd.

Johan Gielens cover is just ugly, and his choice of clothes for it, I guess blended in with the backround, but thats the only excuse I can find for him. Fatboy Slims is just wrong and funny, so we had to throw it up here, while Geo De Silva(I’ll Do You Like A Truck)..I wont even touch that one. So check out the rest of the covers and if you come across a bad one let us know!

DJtunez.net Quarterly Favorites PT. 2

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Well here’s what you’ve all been waiting for, the continuation of the DJtunez.net quarterly favorites, as always comments are welcome. You can visit our forum(www.247nightlife.com) and talk about your favorite tracks and dont for get to visit www.djtunez.net daily as we have the most up to date electronic dance music on the planet!! Well anyway heres what you’re looking for:

5. Afikaner – Opera House(Working On My Roots Mix)
I fell upon this track by mistake, and boy am I glad I did, amazing and original.

4.Mike Foyle – Bittersweet Nightshade (Markus Schulz Return To Coldharbour Remix)

The original is beautiful, and that Schulz touch put this to another level.

3. Heatbeat – Vergatron

Love the energy in this track, pure brilliance here from Heatbeat.

2. Ferry Corsten Ft. Betsie Larkin – Made Of Love

Ferry never seizes to amaze me with his productions, this is no different.

AND THE NUMBER SONG IS…

1. Cosmic Gate Ft. Emma Hewitt- Not Enough Time

This track has grown on me, initially I was iffy about it right now I cannot stop listening to it, hearing it live gives it so much more as well, Cosmic Gate can do no wrong as far as productions go and this is proof.

Want to share your favorites of 2009 so far? Of course you do, let us hear you out!
