Tune Of The Week

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Whats up world, we’re leaving for the Electric Zoo Festival in about an hour(Pictures and Videos coming soon), So lets get this thing rolling. The winner of this weeks Top5Tunez with 30% of the votes, is the Cosmic Gate remix of Fabio XB & Ronnie Play Ft Gabriel Cage – “Inside Of You”. I agree with the comment left on the YouTube page by Polarfuchs about this Cosmic Gate and this track, “Cosmic Gate is just sick. Love them! Greeeeat track”.. Really I couldn’t of summed it up any better. Up next with 25% of the votes is Marcus Schossow’s alias Progresia with “Galandia” , and again Polarfuchs sounds off on the YouTube page, “Schossow owns. He is so damn skilled 5*”, true and to the point!!

With 18% of the votes came Cliff Coenraad’s “Distorted Reality” , and yes Polarfuchs did comment on it, but I just want to say Cliff Coenraad is really giving the electronic dance scene a sick, new sound too it, and people are loving it, hope he can make it out to New York soon, so we can check him out live! Rafael Frost’s “Boomerang” took in 14% of the votes, Mr. Frost has brought us a handful of quality productions, but this in my opinion, is his best work to date. Now with 13% of the votes comes Tritonal Ft Christina Soto – Lunarium (Daydream Fantasy Vocal Mix), amazing production by them again, the name of the mix really says it all, the track puts you into a sort of fantasy land and Christina’s voice really works beautifully on this track, the record really gives me a feel like Master & Nickson Ft. Justine Suissa “Out There(5th Dimension)” did, very uplifting..keep up the good work guys!

Enjoy this weeks tracks and make sure you vote for your favorite! We’ll have a lot of new pictures and videos up this week so make sure you stay tuned!!

Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight:Josh Gabriel

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

We’re now just 3 days aways from the Zoo! This gives us some time to introduce you to another artist who will be performing this weekend, Josh Gabriel. Josh is probably known for his tag team with Dave Dresden (Of Gabriel & Dresden). They had an amazing ride together bringing out amazing productions and remixes, Including the classic “As The Rush Comes”, under the alias Motorcycle. Their last production was a remix of Faithless’ “A Kind Of Peace”, The duo has since split and both have focused on their own productions. Josh has brought us a lot of great new music, including his track “Summit” which he released before the split, which had a crazy buzz around the dance music scence. But the favorite from Josh has to be this…

Tune Of The Week

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Welcome back to DJtunez.net folk, with less then a week from the Electric Zoo Festival, we’re going to try to bring you as much coverage of the event as possible, but now lets take a look at the Top 5 Tunez voting from last week. With 44% of the votes is Tiesto Ft. Tegan & Sara “Feel It In My Bones”, who would ever thought that artists from such different genres would come together to make music? Who cares really, the music is a hit, and if you havent heard “Back In Your Head”, now is the time.

Next with 23% of the votes is Lange Ft. Sarah Howells “Let It All Out”. Lange has been putting out amazing trance records since his hit “I Believe” back in 2000. Spencer & Hill’s remix of Medina’s “You And I” took in 16%, Spencer & Hill seem to be popping up on every remix lately. The Above & Beyond Remix of DT8 Project’s “Destination” pulled in 11% of the votes while the Michael Badal remix of Niklas Harding & Kris O’neil’s “Saturn” collected 4%.

A special thank you goes out to everyone who voted for “Disarm” right from the horses mouth, Mr. Randy Boyer himself took the time out to email us and let us know how much he appreciated that. So, continue to vote the DJ’s are looking whos been naughty or nice! A little update about yesterday, we we’re suposed to check out Paul Van Dyk in Central Park but weather wasnt the greatest so those plans didnt pan through, later on in the day we were suposed to go to see Randy Boyer @ Love, but got stuck on the side of a highway for 3 hours, so our sights are set on the Electric Zoo now!

Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight:Markus Schulz

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

With just over a week till the big festival, its time to bring you the rest of the artist that will be playing there. Today we’ll take a look at Markus Schulz. Markus has been producing since 94(Along side C.L. McSpadden), but his break probably came with one of his first trance records “You Wont See Me Cry” in 1998  and was later remade for his “Without You Near” album in 2005. That album also contained the tracks “First Time” and “Without You Near(Coldharbour Mix)” which are classics, you might also want to check out the Gabriel & Dresden remix of Without You Near. His following album “Progression” included another beautiful track with Departure(Without You Near features Departure as well), the track is called “Cause You Know” . Markus has released alot of compilations in between the albums and also has a weekly radio show called “Global DJ Broadcast” as well.

Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight:David Guetta

DAVID GUETTA Photo 1 (Small)

23 days remaining till the Electric Zoo Festival. I still dont know what a Zoo has to do with it but I can’t wait. Today we’ll take a look at David Guetta. It’s was a long time coming for the man from Paris, who’s first single “Up & Away” was released in 1994, and even before that(1990) he had a hip hop track released with a french rapper Sidney Duteil called “Nation Rap”.

Both are far cries from the commercial hit’s he has been banging out since. After the 1994 release of “Up & Away”, his next track was “Just A Little More Love” which featured the voice of Chris Willis was released in 2001, and opened up the commercial doors for David. David’s next big break was with his release of “The World Is Mine” in 2004, which contained a sample of the Simple Minds record “Someone Somewhere In Summertime”. Since then David’s music career took off. David Guetta now has 4 solo albums under his belt, and a very succesful compilation called “F*** Me I’m Famous”.

His latest album “One Love”, includes tracks with Akon, Kid Cudi, Will.I.Am (of the Black Eyed Peas) and, Kelly Rowland just to name a few. His record with Akon “Sexy Bitch” is blowing up speakers everywhere this summer, while “I Got A Feeling” a track he produced for the Black Eyed Peas has major spins on the radio.

Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight:Danny Tenaglia

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Today we’ll focus on a resident New York DJ, some of you might of heard of him, he’s sort of a big deal in the scene.. His name is Danny Tenaglia, and his massive amounts of tunage are what makes him one of the more successful New York DJ’s. One of his first classic tracks was 1998’s “Element” , which is an amazing track, where the vocals actually take you through the elements of the record. His remix of Green Velvets “Flash” won him “Best Remix” at the UK’s Muzik Awards. The track again is amazing, also giving a sort of story, so “Camera’s ready, prepare to flash”!!!. One of my favorite’s from Danny is his newest production “The Space Dance”..
