Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight : Kaskade
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009With the days counting down to the Electric Zoo, we here at DJtunez.net have brought it upon ourselves to introduce you to some of the artist’s performing. Today we will meet Kaskade. Kaskade has lately become for famous for his work with Deadmau5(Such as “Move For Me”) and the amazing Adam K and Soha remix of “4 AM”.
But truth be told Kaskade has been at it since 2001, his first top 10 track was “Steppin Out”. He has since been part of projects such as Late Nite Alumni, which track “Empty Streets”, which has even become the theme for the commercial of the Toyota iQ. One of his newest singles is called “Everything”, but one of my favorites from Kaskade is his 2008 track….
Electric Zoo Artist Spotlight: Armin Van Buuren, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi
Monday, July 20th, 2009With under 50 days to go till the Electric Zoo and over 50 artists performing, I think its time for us to school you guys on some of the performers. Today we’ll introduce you to three DJ’s playing on Saturday (Sept.5).
Armin Van Buuren, I don’t think I have to give a big lesson on this man. Winning awards as a producer and a DJ, including the 2007 and 2008 DJmag #1 DJ(took #2 in ‘06 and has been top 5 since 2002). His discography includes tracks he’s done with Tiesto (“Wonder Where You Are?“), under the name “Major League”, to tracks with Ferry Corsten (“Exhale”), under the name “System F” to his new tracks like “Fine Without You” off his new album “Imagine”.
Up next we have Deadmau5. I don’t think I’ve seen a DJ/Producer hated on more than him since DJ Aligator. From his beef with Marcus Schossow, who created a project along with Maor Levi and DJ Eco named “Deadrat6″(Deadmau5 later released a track under the name “Marcus Fatsow”, a blow at Marcus’ size) ..to his views on “DJ’s”, and I quote “with all due respect to the DJ type that will fucking go the way of the dinosaur, I’d like them to dis-a-fucking-pear! It’s so middle man, they’re like fucking lawyers! You need them, but they’re fucking cunt”. Other then these minor incidents the man has brought forth quality music, from his Juno Award winning track with Billy Newton Davis, called “All U Ever Want”, to his track “I Remember” with Kaskade and his Grammy nominated remix of Morgan Page’s “The Longest Road”.
Up third in today’s spotlight is Benny Benassi. Benny has accomplished alot since coming in the dance scene including a Grammy for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise” , also correct me if I’am wrong, but I believe he made that distorted bass sound cool. One of my favorite’s from Benny Benassi is “Rocket In The Sky”..please,please..dont ask me why. But lets not joke ourselves, we all know what he’s most famous for….

Deadmau5 @ Webster, Simon Patterson/Marcel Woods @ Love
Monday, May 11th, 2009Big weekend coming up in the New York City area. Friday and Saturday(May 15th,16th) you’ll get to enjoy Deadmau5 over at Webster Hall doing his thing. Friday’s show is $25, while saturdays will be $30 at the door so save yourself some money by pre-ordering.
While Saturday(May 16th) you can get to watch rising star Simon Patterson and electronic music legend Marcel Woods throwing it down at Love. As usual Massive Events is promoting the show @ Love, tickets are $20 and you can get them HERE.
Personally, I think the Saturday show with Simon Patterson and Marcel Woods will be more appealing, as you know most of the people will be at Deadmau5’s event, giving you a more personal experience with Marcel & Simon @ Love. Then again if you want to see the antics Deadmau5 pulls off at his gig’s you cant go wrong with that either. All in all, its a great weekend to love electronic music and live around the NYC area!
