Above & Beyond in Space

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Ok, not really, but Above & Beyond WERE associated with the reveal of the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo (Richard Branson’s venture into commercial flights to space.)
When Virgin Galactic were looking for some atmospheric music to herald the launch of their ground-breaking ‘SpaceShipTwo’, they turned to Above & Beyond.  At an event hosted by Richard Branson in the Mojave Desert, the track chosen to accompany the official unveiling of SpaceShipTwo was Above & Beyond’s club anthem ‘Buzz’, which was inspired by the Apollo 11 moon-landing.
After the unveiling of the world’s first space tourism spacecraft, Above & Beyond performed an exclusive DJ set in front of an audience of 800 dignitaries, celebrities and soon-to-be astronauts, plus the assembled global media.

Tune Of The Week

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Welcome back to DJtunez.net folk, with less then a week from the Electric Zoo Festival, we’re going to try to bring you as much coverage of the event as possible, but now lets take a look at the Top 5 Tunez voting from last week. With 44% of the votes is Tiesto Ft. Tegan & Sara “Feel It In My Bones”, who would ever thought that artists from such different genres would come together to make music? Who cares really, the music is a hit, and if you havent heard “Back In Your Head”, now is the time.

Next with 23% of the votes is Lange Ft. Sarah Howells “Let It All Out”. Lange has been putting out amazing trance records since his hit “I Believe” back in 2000. Spencer & Hill’s remix of Medina’s “You And I” took in 16%, Spencer & Hill seem to be popping up on every remix lately. The Above & Beyond Remix of DT8 Project’s “Destination” pulled in 11% of the votes while the Michael Badal remix of Niklas Harding & Kris O’neil’s “Saturn” collected 4%.

A special thank you goes out to everyone who voted for “Disarm” right from the horses mouth, Mr. Randy Boyer himself took the time out to email us and let us know how much he appreciated that. So, continue to vote the DJ’s are looking whos been naughty or nice! A little update about yesterday, we we’re suposed to check out Paul Van Dyk in Central Park but weather wasnt the greatest so those plans didnt pan through, later on in the day we were suposed to go to see Randy Boyer @ Love, but got stuck on the side of a highway for 3 hours, so our sights are set on the Electric Zoo now!

As promised here’s the Top 5 tracks of the 2nd part of 2009. Check out the Top 10 of the 1st part of 2009 Here and Here.

5- Re-Ward – Black Jack

Sorry, I cant think of any producer that can bring such energetic tracks on a consistent basis. Hands down one of our favorite producers at the time.

4- Faithless Ft. Cass Fox – Music Matters(Mark Knight Remix)

Faithless always brings out amazing/meaningful music, this is no different, and the Mark Knight remix is sex.

3- John O’Callaghan Ft. Sarah Howells – Find Yourself (Cosmic Gate Remix)

John O’Callaghan really put himself on the map with the release of “Big Sky” and hasn’t looked back since.

2- Oceanlab – On A Good Day (16 Bit Lolitas Downbeat Mix)
Probably the most beautiful track of 2009 so far.

AND OUR FAVORITE TRACK SO FAR IN 2009….

———————————————————————————————————

1- Ashley Wallbridge and Andy Moor feat. Meighan Nealon – Faces

If the year was over today, this would definetly be in the running for the best track of the year.

Hope you all enjoyed the countdown as much as we enjoyed compiling it. We’ll be bringing you the top 10 again in September when the year is 3/4’s done, and again bringing you the top 10 of the year in December. If you have any comments about this list dont be shy to write! Enjoy and keep checking back as we’re going to be bringing alot of new music in the coming days!

Tune Of The Week

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Another week, another winner here on DJtunez.net. Unlike the new propositions to limit the amount of “free” music radio stations can play, DJtunez.net sets no such limits!

This weeks winner was a great remix by Muzikjunki of Ferry Corsten’s “We Belong”. The track took in 35% of your votes. In second place with 20% of the votes is Hardwell’s remix of Sander Van Doorns & Marco V’s “What Say”. Hardwell at only 21 years of age has made quite a name for himself, even getting the opportunity to mix disc 2 of “Privilege, The Worlds Biggest Club”. Disc 1 is mixed by the legends Cosmic Gate.

Andrew Bayer’s Remix of Oceanlab’s “Secret”, Took in 20% of the votes. You can find this remix and many more great remixes from Oceanlabs 2008 album “Sirens Of The Sea”, on the “Sirens Of The Sea Remixed” album. With 16% of the votes is Marcel Woods new track called “Inside Me” and Breakfast’s remix of the Saints & Sinners track “Peace” took in 8%.

Hope you enjoy this weeks Top 5 Tunez, and dont forget to vote on your favorite!
