Rusko & Deadmau5 Beef
Ohhh snap, we’re about the get another beef going in the EDM genre. Usually beefing has a place in the hip hop community and sometimes in rock and roll, but Deadmau5 has a way of rubbing people the wrong way I guess. You might remember his beef with Marcus Schossow from a while back. This time,allegedly,Deadmau5 went off to a security guard and snitched that Rusko was lighting up some weed. I don’t know about you, but it seems to me like Deadmau5 is a whiny prima donna. Anyway, here’s some awesome tweet’s from Rusko @ Deadmau5.
After all of this came about,Deadmau5 released this statement:
“i mean, props to him for ridding my tail to get himself some free publicity and all that… but are the threats really nesciscary? im not one to speak against people who “say stupid shit on twitter” … because i do it ALL THE TIME… i, however, have never, and will never threaten violence to anyone in that context. it’s fucking childish. so if the little child wants his attention… well look… he’s certainly got it. cool fuckin story bro… but why u mad? anyways, i hope he grows up and hopefully figures out that “making good music” sells your profile, and not making up some dumbfuck dressing room story and including my name in it for fuckin entertainment’s sake. and thats all im going to say about that.”

I actually enjoyed deadmau5′s music in the beginning..but it got progressively worse and worse and now not only do I not like his music, but his attitude is shitty as well. One of my friends met him and, said he’s a douche in person too
To be honest, if it’s true, I’m on deadmau5′s side, if it’s not then I’m still of deadmau5′s side. Sure, he can be a bit of a dick, but isn’t everyone? Rusko just sounds like a total twat to me.

I personally love my weed. But I have worked in clubs for a long time, and sometimes people smoking in the backroom sucks balls, if you dont want to be around it. Some people like to smoke weed some don’t. But it is not fair to force someone to be around it. Now there is always two sides to every story. It seems that Rusko is being immature as fuck and posting dumbass tweets like hes a tough guy in highschool. They are both very talented artists. Deadmau5 is starting to get into a dubstep scene and could be a very substantial competition for Rusko. And to the person who said Deadmau5 ruined electro msuics reputation. False. In fact, Deadmau5 has revolutionized the music scene. In fact, I bet if he wasnt as famous as we is today, he was just an underground electro artist, your opinion would change. Something about liking a famous artist seems wrong to some people. I think this preconceived thinking is bullshit. Just because someone is famous does not mean their music quality has gone down or their talent. It just means alot more people like their music than just you. Thus making them…. uncool. Deadmau5′s music is perfectly mastered, mixed, with perfecting melodies, breakdowns, and fist pumping drops. Deadmau5 has a maturity about him, that Rusko just doesn’t have. As well as people calling him a douche. Fuck their are huger douches than him out there. Deadmau5 has confidence and a strong opinion. Two things that are very important in the entertainment industry. I enjoy both Rusko and Deadmau5 but seriously… Rusko… You’re bein a bitch.
I agree with most of your post,but it seems like deadmau5 feels like He’s above everyone because of his fame. All the stories I hear about him are that he’s a whiney prick,so my argument here is about his personality and attitude, not his music
to Fitch’s comment, i feel like its the opposite. people who listen to mainstream music actually like deadmau5 just because they think he isn’t mainstream and want to have some sense of musical identity. i know before i got into any electronic music, i heard ghosts and stuff and though it was the shit, until it prompted me to listen to other electronic music, then i realized it kinda sucks ass…. I would be glad for someone else in the electronic music scene to be mainstream because i would love to see some of these genres get the respect they deserve, but deadmau5 doesnt deserve respect. he is talentless. he has no creative vision, and his music is plain and repetitive. any time i go on hypem or soundcloud i find atleast one person who mixes as a hobby that is way more talented than him. i dont even listen to a lot of rusko, this story just outraged me because deadmau5 is a whiney little snitch and deserves to get his ass beat. i dont believe fighting makes you cooler than other people, but if i was burning and someone snitched on me, id beat their fucking ass right there.

rusko has made some house-ish tracks and they’re fucking disgusting…not boring and minimal like deadmau5. rusko is young too (he’s 25).
and to all the people that say being a dick isn’t a big deal, how is it not? look what happened to kanye. when his ego went overboard, everyone started hating him. whether you think it’s a big deal or not, it does have a certain effect. deadmau5 is losing fans quickly (me included) by having a huge ego and allowing us to stray off to other more likable edm artists (like rusko). at the same time, he’s gaining twice as many 15 year old fans by appearing on shows like gossip girl and the vma’s. i’m not hating deadmau5 for doing that but be objective and realize what is happening: the real fans of edm are moving on to other artists while deadmau5 is gaining a much more mainstream audience.

Deadmau5 and Rusko are in two very different genres, so directly comparing them as musicians wouldn’t serve much purpose. But here’s what I know, Deadmau5 is at the very top in the house/electro scene, one is not ranked 4th best DJ in the world for no reason. Rusko.. Who the hell is Rusko? I don’t care if he produced Britney Spears last album (who’s mainstream now?), Rusko is a little shit compared to dubstep artists like Downlink, Bassnectar or Datsik.
